full, dark red colour. The nose is ample, well filled with a smoky blueberry, deep mulberry aroma with dabs of licorice. The palate attacks well via rolling black fruits with a line of saltiness through them, culminating in a fresh, pebbly tannin close that shows good, stealthy length. This is genuine, well made Vacqueyras, aided by the free juiciness and the freshness. Good structure, rolling, clear fruit are its prime assets. Ideal for beef, lamb dishes.
