2015

(vat/large barrel) mild red robe. The nose is reminiscent of Pez sweets and their aromatic candy, has a gurgle of red berry fruit within. It’s a still unformed opening. The palate bears scented red fruited content, with a little sweetness, and quiet tannins. It lacks the stature of the leaders, notably via a spare mid-palate. Allow until late 2018 so it can fuse further, and maybe capture the imagination more. 14.5°. 2026-27 Sept 2016

2013

light to medium red colour, very light at the rim. This is fluid on the nose – there are grassy, red fruit notes. Has a supple attack, but then a dry, earthy finish. The tannins are green and edgy, and the wine lacks overall ripeness. Bottled already, doubtful it can make up much ground. 13.5°. From 2016. 2020-21 JL Oct 2014

2009 ()

three-quarter red colour; cocoa, coffee, prune early mix on the nose – the bouquet is rather weighty and soaked. The palate is uneven, its acidity not yet sorted (added acidity?) or fused – there is dry at the front of the mouth. Its red fruit comes and goes, with the finish vacant of fruit. From mid-2012. 2008 ()

fragile red robe. The first nose is raisin and toffee, while the second level is rather edgy, baked. The palate is a bit dirty, tainted – lacks the clean lines of the leading 2008s, is low on distinction. Very workmanlike, needs more joy. Green moments on the finish – it is all a bit of a struggle. From late 2010 may be a shade better. 2014-15 Dec 2009 8,200 b this year

2007 ()

dark purple, opaque robe; soft, supple red fruits nose, with a toffee and raisin coating. The palate bears mild fruit that lacks real stamp. It proceeds calmly, but more brio would benefit it. There is red Grenache fruit at its heart. Not yet the finished article, so has margin to improve. The length is OK.
