2015 ()

(barrel) handsome full red robe. The bouquet is sty lish in the making, with a good mixed basket of red and black berries, a note of dried flowers, pot-pourri adding elegance. I find it rather Burgundian, has a nobility of the north. The palate offers shapely fruit and content, with neat tannins sprinkled along its path. There are notes of the garrigue such as gorse, and I find this an STGT, genuine Châteauneuf with cosy heart and fine balance and juice. It extends very surely, has lovely finesse. From late-2018, and serve in a large glass. 15°. 2030-33 Sept 2016

2013 ()

(large barrel) medium red colour. Simple nose and palate here. It is sound, but lacks distinction, holds supple fruit. The tannins are slightly chewy. Lacks conviction for a Châteauneuf. 15°. From 2016. 2021-22 JL Oct 2014

2012 ()

dark red robe; chunky, chiselled, black raisin aroma – this is a bouquet with a big prune centre, tobacco leaves andHavanacigar – it is sweet at its centre. There is a liberal flow of winning black fruit with expressive tannins urging it on: there are good gusto and life here – this is a generous, well-juiced Châteauneuf with local charm. There is a light salt breeze on the exit, which encourages its drinkability. From 2016. 15°. €19. 2026-28  Nov 2013

2011

(bottling in next month) steady red robe, legs. There is an air of smoked pork within a caramel, red fruit aroma, a hint of oak. The nose is precise, but rather cellar-led. The palate has a glutinous debut – a wave of fat, ripe red berry fruit, some spice seasoning. It holds up ate the finish, has fair breadth, is formulaic but effective. I note the cellar work on the palate. Has a red fruit-toffee end. From 2015. 14.5°. €17. 2025-26  Dec 2012
