80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, fermented separately, destemmed, crushed, Grenache 4 week vinification at 25°C-32°C, Syrah-Mourvèdre 2-3 week 80 hl large barrel vinification, daily pumping overs, Syrah part vat emptying/refilling, concrete vat raised 8-11 months, filtered, 30,000 b


dark red. The nose has a bosky, woodsy air, with prune fruit behind, dark tobacco: it’s a brooding start. The palate is based around fat Grenache fruit, a flavour of plums, mulberries, has a stream of implicit power through it that coats its texture. The finish is on eau de vie, raisin, and is a little over dry, towards baking. I would leave this until 2019, and decanting will aid it. 13.5°. 30,000 b. €13.90. 2026-27 Oct 2017

2010 ()

black-tinted robe; streamlined fruit features in an enclosed nose, one that is wrapped in on itself. Added to the black cherry is a warm tea earthiness, an extra spur of depth, along with some red fruit such as raspberry. The palate has a supple, rich tendency around its clean black fruit – mixing blackberry and blueberry. It builds towards the finish, is chewy and there are licorice-tar notes of clarity as well. This is good, a wine that strikes a very good note, is very persistent and drives along well after half way. Genuine, gives uplifting drinking. From spring 2013. 14.5°. 2028-30 Dec 2011
