2018 ()

(large barrel, bottling March 2020) dark red; the bouquet has scale, though isn’t on the go yet. There’s a red cherry aroma with garrigue herbs at its centre. The palate attacks well, goes off on a run of red berry fruits with an engaging thickness, a sure delivery into a rounded, munchy finale. It can polish up the finish if left until 2022-23. 14.5°. 8,000 b. 2041-43 Oct 2019

2016

medium depth red robe. Grenache plum fruit leads the nose, with a surround of entrails, raspberry fruit, some basil and rose hip. It’s not yet as one, all together, but is promising to be elegant. The palate rocks along on smooth red fruit and content, with a savoury nature and a good, gradual build in the tannins towards the finish. This is lucid, neat Châteauneuf, from the finesse school. The aftertaste is nicely oily and rounded. From mid-2019. 2029-31 Oct 2017

2015 ()

red robe, Grenache hue, legs visible. Has a soft strawberry style fruit aroma with a note of cut, lead pencil, thyme, sage, a nose that is going well. The palate bears engaging red fruits, gives a gradual gain in depth and firmness, ends running, with mixed notes. There is lithe matter within it. This is natural, unforced. The palate isn’t as free as the nose, is more clenched. The length is sound. 14.5°. From late 2018. 2029-30 Oct 2017 Previously Sept 2016 ***(*) dark red robe. Elder berry, cassis, smoke, rock face airs combine on the nose, which is not fully formed. The palate holds lithe content, with charge in the tannins that prevail along the second half. The red fruited juice has a hot vintage concentration, and comes forth only fitfully for now. The finish has a rocky texture. Tuck this away until 2020. 2030-33 Sept 2016
