sound red robe, legs. The nose has a rather brilliant, inviting tone of raspberry coulis fruit, is all very fresh and clear with some soft notes of fresh blackberry fruit also, with a notion of warm lands, baked soils, behind. There’s good purity in the fruit. The palate is live, more on the kick than the nose, holds tight content with chiselled, smoky tannins along the second half. Its red berry fruits come with dried herbs and a real dusty trail texture. It’s a clear, genuine, intricate and unforced wine for setting aside until 2022. It has character, is one for the Rhône enthusiasts. 80% Counoise. 2036-38 Oct 2017

red robe. White pepper, lead pencil, graphite airs show on the nose, which is discreetly floral, has curvy red fruits aromas, some damp soil. This is expressive – of it goes, parades red fruits, builds in spice and “ping”, gets crunchy before the finish, which is on cocoa, has a dry, frim side. For the wine of young vines, there is a good link between nose and palate. It is a naked style of wine, not an everyman style. Its 15° is not obvious. It is a bit spare, may expand. 15°. 60% Counoise. From late 2018. 2026-28 Oct 2017
