2018 ()

(large barrel, bottling March 2020) largely full red robe; the bouquet shows some vintage freshness, has a cool-toned red fruiting with pockets of mixed herbs. The palate moves along freely with a straightforward hand out of raspberry, red berry fruits, and low-key, slightly chiselled tannins in tow. It ends clearly. It’s a sound Châteauneuf, but doesn’t ignite the senses. 14.5°. 2,000 b. From 2022. 2040-42 Oct 2019

sound red robe. The bouquet has a thick concentration of black berry fruits with the vintage sweetness attached, there are low-key plum and spice airs behind. The palate bears fluid, wavy content with a smoky note towards the finish, with licorice mixed into the blueberry fruit there. The Grenache plays a discreet but important role. The aftertaste is quite rugged, has a menthol, smoky tang, its darkness demanding another three years to settle in. This has integrity, hasn’t been overdone, as witnessed by the final burst of freshness. From 20 21. 2034-37 Oct 2017

dark red. There is good style in the nose, black cherry stone fruit airs, blackberry, licorice, cocoa-mocha darkness, plums and spice: there is mystery in the bouquet. The palate presents dashing fruit, comes with good, sustained, dark content, is very vintage 2015. The length is attractive, with a bright surge on the finish, notable and good Grenache gras richness, and sure roundness. The palate has the sap (sève) of old vines. 14°. 2034-37 Oct 2017 Previously Sept 2016 **** dark red colour, with sheen. The nose bears a ripe aroma of blackberry, with a mulled intensity and a note of black olives. The palate sets off on suave, rolling black-fruited content, holds bendy tannins that bolster the late depth. This is discernibly southern wine with sound heart, and a developing juiciness. From mid-2019. 2030-33 Sept 2016
