(vat/casks) dark red, attractive robe; the nose mixes spice and blackcurrant coulis airs, black olives, captures the South correctly. The palate is savoury, bears smooth richness and mild tannins with a note of darkness and energy. It engages well, is close to ready, with a note of oaking on the aftertaste. 14.5°. 60% Gren, 30% Syr, 10% Mourv. €15.90. From spring 2021. 2032-34 Feb 2020

dark, handsome robe. The nose is close-knit, shows black olives, a little mineral in the clear cassis-style fruit, some chocolate that suggest oak. The palate commences well, offers a savoury roll of black fruit matter, slightly pesky tannins on the premises, notes of oak late on. Its early richness sets a good tone, but the second half is more cellar-induced, less satisfactory, a little dry, exerted. It’s a powerful, high octane wine. 15,000 b. 60% Gren, 30% Syr, 10% Mourv. €15.90. From 2022. 2034-36 Feb 2020 Previously Nov 2018 (casks) ***(*) shiny, quite full red robe. The bouquet is just emerging, gives a cosy black berry fruit, black cherry, is rounded, not yet varied. The palate bears expressive, rolling content, is a bit flashy, holds gourmand tannins that bring lip smack. It’s more varietal than terroir wine. There are smoky, slightly vegetal notes on the finish, tar there. From spring 2020. 2034-36 GB £150 (est) per 12 b i/bond H2Vin quintessentially@h2vin.co.uk +44(0)203 073 6655 Nov 2018

dark robe. There’s a blackberry lead aroma on the nose, a hint of violets from its Syrah. It’s a curvy, appealing start. The palate is stylish, infused with wavy, appetising black fruits with a tingle of precision. It ends on a more soaked cherries flavour, ripe tannins giving a little extra layering. This is up there with the leaders this year, holds beautiful, striking fruit. The length is impressive, well focused, has real carry. 14.5°. 60% Gren, 30% Syr, 10% Mourv. From spring 2020. 2035-37 Feb 2018

red robe with a pale rim. The bouquet is soft and enjoyable, based on black fruits with a smoky intensity, quiet inner depth. The palate bears suave content with cosy tannins wrapped around it, the flavour resembling blackberry jam, a touch of blueberry.  This is charming and nicely filled, a good orb of a wine. 14.5°. 30,000 b. 60% Gren, 25% Syr, 15% Mourv. €15.90 at the cellars. From 2018. 2028-30 May 2017

(casks) shiny red robe. Has a toffee, mulled fruits air, a bouquet that is gently sweet, the fruit rather pure. The palate has a gourmand, red berry flavour, along with mild but present tannins. The length is decent, with late kick and then slight dryness on the tannins. It is a touch commercial, but is above average for Vacqueyras, I am sad to say! 2022-24 £120 12 b in bond H2Vin GB www.h2vin.co.uk Nov 2015
