nicely dark red robe. The nose gives a charming mix of blackberry and mulberry, is well rounded and pure, has a small tickle of mixed herbs, licorice. The palate is good and juicy, is a true Chusclan with its soft tannins and sparky fruit. It finishes on a gentle powdered texture, a little floral expression. Its juiciness is appealing, and it drinks with ease and openness, is a w.o.w. wine, ideal for the restaurant trade. It can be drunk solo, or with mild dishes, poultry. 13.5°. To 2020 May 2017

dark red; reduction, high notes on the bouquet, so decant this. The bouquet is muddled, jumbly, shows some sweetness, cooked plum, has earthen moments, with raspberry and licorice. The palate leans towards animal, downhome, although the fruit has some clarity, suavity, with a little stray acidity in it. Not a real whole – this is a Curate’s Egg of a wine. The fruit doesn’t show consistently. 14°. 55% Syr, 45% Gren. 13,000 b. To 2017  Oct 2013
