1983 Viognier on Chauramond next to the Condrieu appellation, fermented, raised 50% new oak, 50% 2-3 year oak casks 12 months, 500-600 b, a lot sold to friends

2006 ()

light yellow robe, with rich aspects, legs down the glass. Prominent, full style of bouquet, with plenty of perfume in the fruit, and some spice. Quite a gourmand wine – the 2006 has less acidity than the 2005 – with a fat middle and fair persistence. A hint of late oak tightens it. Lacks some cut. Length is OK. Aperitif drinking best. 14.5°. varied with time and different bottles - * to *** - as in * out of kilter, sugary. Butter,pear,spice. Some richness, bonbon, sugared pear flavour. Dec 2003 pear, toasted prolonged aroma; sappy, with grip, works well. Clear flavour, lovely style. Light oak end. March 2003
