from Vérin (1984 Viognier on Les Grands Maisons, Rochebret) and Condrieu (Vernon), fermented, raised 50% new & 2-4 year oak, 50% vat 10 months, malo completed, 7,000 b


yellow, some pear, legs on the robe. Rounded, pear-apricot aroma, comes with a trim of agreeable spice and is attractive – it sets up the palate well. The palate leads off with quiet confidence – this is refined, has better balance than many, keeps going, even if the later stages reside more on latent power than fruit. The finish is fine, clear, mineral. This can do the aperitif, or roast chicken – spiced foods would be too much for it. 13°. To 2013. Dec 2009

2007 ()

wide, bustling aroma – shows ripe fruit and a spiced backdrop, a little mint – this has bounty. The palate fruit reflects grapes left on the vine for a long time, toaccentuate their ripeness – thus there is a slight “high” note about to it. Has a wet wool, chewy finale that is rather strange. A wine that needs food rather than aperitif drinking. 14.5°. 2012-13 March 2009

only from Grands Maisons this year, with the malos taking until June 2007 to complete. The wine is over 14.5°

2005 ()

stylish, graceful nose – pear, nut and some flowers, with a little oak and flan. The palate is crisp with a decent foundation, and it runs on pretty well. There is sinew in this and a little late nuttiness. This is a firm style of Condrieu, just a bit stiff. To 2012 June 2007


pretty, harmonious, rounded shape to bouquet - spice/floral combo, spiced butter. Good, refined texture on palate, flavour an interesting mix of dried fruits, nuts, nougat, dry-toned elements. 2003 ()

good depth on bouquet - shows boiled sweets, banana, butter. Well-knit richness on palate, with a spiced outer casing, rolls on well. Shows the usual calm style of the domaine, unhurried wine. Buttery, pretty finale. March 2005


floral, pretty aroma; elegant, refined flavour with mineral.


toasted, oak-marked nose, elegant, some spicy apricot. Dried fruit flavours, toasty end. Christian suggests to drink it in 2005.
