90% purchased Viognier from Peyraud (oldest 1970s, youngest 2007-08), 10% from bottom of Maladière at Condrieu, 67% steel vat, 33% 4-5 year 228-litre oak cask fermented, raised 6 months, malo completed, the two parts assembled pre-bottling, 4,000 b


pale yellow; light honey, mandarin air, cooked pear – the bouquet is nice and clear, has good cut. The palate has a soft, spreading start, takes on gradual grip. Good, pure fruit here. It drinks well as an aperitif, no fuss. There is a little knot of extra depth, and tangerine style cut on the clean, long finish. 12.5°. To 2016  Oct 2012


pale yellow, green tints. Soft, floral nose. There is light drive along the palate – there is acidity and freshness in this. Clean wine, suited to the aperitif. “It was more on its acidity at first, but is progressing now,” C Pichon. 12.5°. Dec 2009


mid-depth yellow; light pear, smoky nose whose aroma floats out. Has a tight, pebbly palate – very much in the house style. Provides clear, direct drinking, with a little Viognier suppleness to add some flesh. A get on and go wine suited to the aperitif. The fruit flavour is pear. To 2011. Dec 2008
