bright yellow robe, green tints. The bouquet is sunny, nicely fat, presents a curved aroma of ripe nectarine, a nudge of mandarin. It lasts well, and can open further, so decanting a good idea. The palate links well, has a bright attack, holds compact richness, gives a firm display of white stone fruits, plums and pears, with a sprinkle of spring flowers. It’s very long, and the aftertaste bears a little spearmint coolness, which helps its lift, before a slightly oaked aftertaste. 14°. 1,466 b. €38. From spring 2020. 2026-27 Nov 2019

shiny yellow, a good looking robe. This has a classic, traditional Condrieu bouquet on butteriness, inner layering of brioche, a citrus, cooked lime hover above, sea salt in the air also. It’s very much a table wine, one that deserves a large glass and a noble fish such as turbot. The palate links very well to the nose, comes with a firm presence and really steady depth all through. It has a flavour of dried fruits, white peach, grapiness. The finish brings in a little squeezing out of freshness, within its firm canopy. This is grounded but deft, well made, true STGT Condrieu, one that keeps going well. 13.5°. 1,500 b. €34 at the cellars. 2024-25 Mar 2018
