1981-82 Syrah, destemmed, 2 week vinification, from 2007 fermented, raised 35% 3-5 year oak casks, 65% vat, fined, filtered

2007

Cask 1: malo not yet done, dark, bright robe; nice, crunchy, live black fruit, black berry and some game. The palate fruit has real good life and clarity – this is beau. Cask 2: malo done, cherry aroma, palate has grip, clear black fruit, and cool but well entered tannins. Sound wine this year. Is full of beans and will show well early – it is not that deep, but has gras. Jan 2008

2006

red+ robe; red fruits on the nose are baked in nature, with a little marzipan present. The palate has a quiet, prune jam flavour, with a gummy texture. 12.5° Now to 2010. “We had to sort and picked the crop very late, especially after the hail. I used 100% 6-7 year oak this year – too much, they dried the wine too much,” J-C Mouton. Jan 2008
