1980 Viognier on Vernon, fermented, raised 10% new, 90% 4-5 year oak 9-11 months, some lees stirring, first made in 2003, since 2005 included in the regular wine

buttery, refined bouquet, with likely wider aromas to come. Pretty mix of dried fruits and spice on attack, with almost a tannic/licorice finale - interesting. Good little heat kick on finish. More here from 2006. To 2010-11 March 2005
