30-60% own crop (from Saint-Michel, granite soils), 40-70% purchased crop (Sarras, Charnas, Vérin, largely granite soils), fermented for 5-6 weeks in 1-6 year old 228-litre oak casks, then steel vat raised on lees 6 months, Vin de Pays des Collines Rhodaniennes until 2012, 10-23,000 b


yellow robe; has a mild, serene and neat nose with a joli roundness, pear central to it, a touch of vanilla, too. This drinks easily on texture, holds suave and comfy gras, offers a good pinpoint of pear fruit, runs well all through, is fine, nicely classy, very good in its grade. 2015 ()

fine yellow colour. The nose is exuberant, bold, gives an aroma of plush pear with some steel lining, apricot juice, prominent toasting, aniseed. The palate is full on the attack, comes with fine acidity after half way. It grips tightly, has mass on the finish, and just a bit of late heat. 14°. To 2019  Nov 2016


shiny, pale yellow. Has a floating, appealing nose that reflects flowers and apricot. The palate has a lightly buttery debut, a note of flan and stewed pear. The length is OK. 2013 ()

pale flint robe. The bouquet is a healthy, well-set combination of pear and peach fruit, apricot jam, licorice and aniseed; the fruit is stable, well-set. There is an appealing freshness in the early spot of fat on the palate; it has toothsome qualities on the end, the length good. pale yellow; good, cool lime and citrus airs, include orange zest, wee floral notes – this bouquet is appealing. The palate is compact, nicely full, the mid-palate flattering. The start is fresh, the end has a tangerine tang. Very drinkable, w.o.w. wine, just right for the aperitif. 2010 ()

shiny pale yellow, beeswax hue to robe. Broad, smoky, lavender air, with a nugget of white stone fruit at its heart – the bouquet is solid, not that supple. Has a tight, grainy, stone fruit palate with a sense of eau de vie, pear, in its flavour and nature. Has an intense little heart, but lacks a supple surround for now. There is a touch of honey on the aftertaste. 13.5°. Bottled Aug 2011, 23,000 b this year. To 2016 Feb 2012


mild yellow robe. Spice-butter, attractive nose, flintstone airs with it. Good, clear fruit on the palate – this has drive and reach. It drinks well solo. Vanilla and flan hover on the finish. It can gain a little more minerality on the end, say by end 2011. 13.6°. To 2014. “The malo on one cask took until the end of June 2011 to finish, so there may be a possible lactic trace,” F. Villard ( I don`t find that, Frankie). Bottled in September, 3-4 months later than usual. 20,000 b this year. Very fair at half the price of the Condrieu De Poncins. March 2011


70% bought crop this year, only 10,000 b: clear yellow robe; careful, rather gracious, lime and butter aroma, slight fennel airs. The palate has a restrained start, but it shows good mineral clarity late on, and finishes elegantly and cleanly. Provides good, pure drinking, and will be grand with salads, but especially the aperitif. Bonny, w.o.w. wine. 13°1. To 2012. Nov 2009
