fine yellow robe; the nose shows honey, sweet toasting, cooked pear, is more restrained than many this year, but doesn’t quite strike a chiming note. The palate carries a funny level of oaking which is rather wooden – literally - unbending. The interior carries a little apricot fruit, before a firm, dour finish marked by an absence of fruit. This was perhaps harvested too early. 13.5°. 2022 Dec 2018

(casks) yellow robe. Mango juice, guava greet the drinker here on the nose, a tropical bounty, with a glistening air of ripeness. The palate sits comfortably on smoothly delivered white fruits, peach notably, with a note of cooked lime, some late tang. There is grip on the finish, and the juice towards the end is refined. Decanting will prise out a little more from it. 13.2°. 4,000 b. 2020-21 Oct 2016
