lime, tangerine nose of some elegance; there is hazelnut beyond the citrus airs, pear as well. The palate is clear and nicely together, with nice grip and a red wine structure. The fruit is elegant before it becomes more chewy and deep. There is some spice within. Close to its best now. To 2011. June 2008

2002

broad, apricot/pear bouquet, fat interior, smoky top. Pear, melted butter flavour, some restraint. Some burnt cask on finish. More open from 2005. 2009-11

2001

honeyed, warm, ripe fruit bouquet. Savoury texture, fat flavour, honey/apricot mix on finish.

2000

pear/exotic smoky aromas; fat attack, heated, dried fruits, potent tones on the palate. Overt wine, reflects the vintage.

1999

overt rich, oily bouquet; fresh, chewy start, tight and quite meaty. Greengage, mixed flavours. Not unctuous, has character.
