fine yellow colour; the nose is discreet, but weighty, has a small channel of spearmint, aniseed. It needs time, and decanting. The palate is close-knit, not yet articulate, carries a crushed compote of white fruits flavour, pear in evidence. It finishes solidly, the length decent, has a muscular nature, is destined for la table, sauced, butter-based dishes. It’s a little dour, oppressed, neutral, and time may helpfully loosen it, so wait. It lacks the clarity, freshness of the best this year. 14°. 2,400 b. €35. From 2021. 2027-28 Nov 2019
