(casks) dark red; the nose is reductive, on red fruits, lingering raspberry – it’s a plump start. The palate gives mineral, has nice fresh sides, stylish red fruits. It’s still forming around its frame – it has the potential to do that, ends juicily. It’s correctly of the southern sector of Rôtie in its softness. (casks) bright red; floral, floating notes, red berries feature in a nose that isn’t yet together. The palate is all rolled up in one, has southern zone tenderness with supple tannins and oak-toffee present. This is very unformed for now, has ways to go to fuse. Fine juice runs along the palate. 12.5°. €25.60 export. From 2021. 2037-39 Nov 2018

sound red robe. Smoky black berry fruit aroma, a murmur of violet – this is a nose of some potential. The palate presents a closed, nuggety nature, runs with fine fruit, neat red berries, with some bracing tannins. It finishes with a note of floral delicacy in with the pumice stone rockiness. This is wired, Nordic wine that needs patience. From 2018. 12.5°. 9,000 b. 2030-32 GB £174/6 bots in bond Berry Brothers 0800 280 2440 +44(0)207 022 8973  www.bbr.com Feb 2015

fair depth of red. Sweet, slightly toffee air from the ripeness of the crop, all very together and well-shaped for the bouquet. Good grab on the attack – red jam with discreet gras, then the low-key pucker of late tannin which lies well within the wine. Very southern zone in style – the shape is round, the wine compact. It ends quite clearly. From 2013. 2024-26 March 2011

fragile red. Graphite, floral air, a fine-bone aroma. Violet-tinted red fruits on palate, which is light and floating, has a mild late sweetness and florality. Drink now. Light but rather charming. Shows a minor late tannin tang, and some burn from the crop struggling to be ripe. 2019-21 March 2011 Previously Dec 2009 ** (casks) 1st sample: quite dark robe; Intense, almost urgent aroma of dark, smoky fruits, black cherry. The palate is not settled, has still active acidity, and a line of tannin and oak lying on the outside. 2nd sample (much cooler) quite full red; scented violet, perfumato, bit sweaty aroma, red plum fruits here. Crisp black fruit that travels like an arrow along the palate, has only a little siding to bolster it. Black cherry, tar aftertaste. A bit lean. From 2012. 2018-20 Dec 2009

2007 ()

(casks) dark robe; has a poised, elegant aroma with plenty of supple black fruit with a mildly oily air about it, some tea and cinnamon, sweet spice. The palate has a floral, Viognier infusion – the black fruit is scented and juicy. It runs on nice and steadily, and also ends on a juicy note, along with a touch of tannin. Pleasurable drinking. Delicate Côte-Rôtie that lacks a little body, but floats along with grace, while the fruit whispers away past the finish. From spring 2010. 2023-25 Dec 2008

(casks) black robe with a little purple in it; blackberry liqueur, rose hip aroma that is pretty open and opulent. The black fruits are soaked, and with their scented sweetness come over as a the femme fatale in her boudoir. Scented, black fruits and prunes with some violet inside the flavour, the Viognier in there. The savoury theme tightens with some late grip. Made a bit via painting by numbers. Its mellow fruit would be loved those of a sweet tooth. The aftertaste carries an almost roast lamb stock flavour. From around 2009-10. 2023-25 Dec 2007

(cask) dark robe; really tight nose – soaked dark fruits with some smoke and good animal tones. The texture is mineral-flecked, and the heart is rich. Ripe fruit with a black jam nature emerges. The tannins need leaving until 2010. Scented finish, an overtly ripely fruited wine in style. 2023-26 Nov 2006

smoked red fruit bouquet, fair harmony/potential. Stewed fruit with some style, nicely knit. Black fruit, earthy side to it. Length OK. 2005 on. 2014-15

2001 No Rating

(cask) smoky, violet, stewed fruit nose; stretched palate, taut attack. Dries towards finish, wow! Second half is all oak. Maybe some day in the future . .

spicy, black stone fruit nose; ripe grape attack, Viognier gras in mid-palate. Prune flavour, bit taut; uneasy, rather vacant end.
