2011 ()

good, thick deep yellow. Sustained, overt, pear and white peach aroma that is lightly spiced and shows aniseed. The palate has good spine to avoid excess fat; it grips on the finish, with a ginger, lime marmalade tang. It veers towards being burnt on the aftertaste, more a Marsanne bitter note there. A wine of character, isn’t mainstream. 13°. 2024-25  Sept 2013

2009

apricot-yellow colour. Wavy, warm, ripe air, comes with butterscotch, baked pear, has the potential to spread more. The palate offers white raisin, grips at the end, has a thorough mid-palate. Is rather like Muscat in its late stages, ends clearly enough. Rose-hip on the aftertaste is agreeable. 80 gm sugar this year, 60% V, 30% M, 10% R 2018-19 March 2011
