Syrah (2008-2009) from 0.38 hectare on E facing limestone with clay soils at 300 metres on Giraud Les Côtes at Châteaubourg, 2-3 week whole bunch fermentation of the 4 plots separately in steel vats, natural yeasts, pumping overs the first 2-3 days, then cap punching by foot, SO2 not applied until after malo, aged used 600-litre oak casks 11 months, unfined, unfiltered, 1,200-2,400 b

2018 ()

dark red; the nose is lively, gives a burst of black fruits, licorice, has an exuberant air of black cherry, a hint of violet. The palate has a good mineral feel, a well struck and powdered texture, some notes of the South, black olives, carries good spine, freshness. It ends with zap, cut, ping, is entertaining, w.o.w. wine, great with grills. 13.5°. Bottled 18 Nov 2019.  2027-28 Dec 2019

2017 ()

dark red robe. Spice, clove airs accompany lucid black fruits, comes with good cut, clarity. The palate bears attractive black fruits with neat carry, fine tannins, aromatic threads. This is pure and willing, a bonny, fresh wine for early drinking, is very correct. 13°. 2023-24 Dec 2018

2015 ()

(used 600-litre oak cask) bright, dark robe. Has a good, crunchy Syrah aroma, comes with a wild side that I like, airs of packed in blackberries. This runs freely, offers clear fruit right away. There is substance, density on the close. This packs a punch, travels far. You can get your teeth into it. Promising. 14.5°. That is high, also from these young vines! From 2018. 2026-27  Dec 2015

2014 ()

dark red. Inky, nicely deep, pepper above black berry aroma, the depth impressive for a young vineyard. The palate has a good, crisp spark in it, rocks with black fruits at its core and grainy punch of tannin. This is a real, genuine drop of wine. The stems play a handsome role, and give it kick and weight. Beau, true vin, drink with beef steaks. 13°. 2020-21  Dec 2015
