2018 ()

shiny, quite dark red colour; blackberry features in a softly fruited nose that bears a hum of violets. The palate is juicy, upfront, gives raspberry, mixed fruits, streams along well, drinks solo, ends on an aromatic note of red berry. It gives good drinking, is nice and laid back. 12.5°. 2017

dark red; there’s a good strike of red fruit on the nose, a hint of acetate and tar the former a bit distracting. The palate runs with free red fruits, a cool presentation. It’s a bit tight overall, is OK. From late-2019, decanting worth the effort. 13°. 2024-25 Feb 2019

2016

three-quarter bright red robe. Has a smoky, briary aroma, soaked red cherries (griottes). The attack is tasty, immediate, gives red fruits, a spot of late gras richness before a tight close. This is fresh, a little wiry. 12.5°. To 2022 Feb 2018

2013

shiny red robe. Blackberry fruit, a rippling aroma on the nose – there is slight acetate, and it is a little seared. The palate gives a red fruit, cherry-kirsch flavour, with strawberry and spice on the aftertaste. This has life and enough body to be of interest, though the finish is a bit clipped, sudden. 13°. grilled notes on the bouquet, with some black fruit liqueur within. The palate is ripe, with almost excess ripeness that gives it an advanced black fruit flavour. The oak at the end dries it. Drink soon. Dec 2007
