LVT 2018 r 2018 wh Has deservedly become a well-known domaine at Crozes. First bottled their wine in 1991 - previously all sold to the merchant trade. Father Gaby died in 2018, but the brothres still grow fruit, notably apricots. Bold wines with often oily textures. Extraction has been an issue, but since the early 2010s it has been less apparent. The Crozes special Gaby red is very good - **** in 2016 and ****(*) in 2017 - and the reliable, fleshy Hermitage red was **** in 2014 and 2015, ****(*) in 2017 and 2018. The 2015 white Hermitage is a full ****(*) wine, while the 2016 Crozes-Hermitage white was a **** STGT wine; the 2017 Gaby white was a classy, potentially complex ****(*) wine, with the **** 2018 traditional, up to giving a white Hermitage a run for its money, glycerol-based wine - although only very limited amounts are produced.
