inky robe, black tints all over it. The bouquet is a reflection of the high heat of the summer, a full-up pile of black fruit, prunes, soaked blackberries. The palate is also copious, bears fat, ripe content with thick tannins, overt density. It’s lush, sipping wine, away from the usual brief given to Crozes. The best bet may be to leave it until 2023, by which time it might be looser, and easier to drink, away from its thickness. 14°. Bottled 15 March 2019. 2029-31 Nov 2019

2017 ()

shiny dark robe; strong reduction masks the nose, so this demands decanting and air. The bouquet is large, has an oxtail depth, a deeply set aroma of raspberry liqueur, a hint of violets in back. The palate gives fleshy content, is juicy and peppery. This is open and accessible, could be more refined. It can be drunk now. 13.5°. Bottled 5 June 2018. 2025-26 Dec 2018 Previously Feb 2018 ***(*) dark red. There’s definite depth in the bouquet which has a sturdy interior, gives dark berry fruits, black olives, is an STGT Beaumont-Monteux. The palate presents juicy, attractive richness, has the oily features of Beaumont, southern tendencies, with late freshness, salt. The length is good, with precision. 2022-23 Feb 2018

dark, shiny robe. The nose gives a sleek air of black berry fruit with a pin-point sweetness upping the ante. The palate is most tasty, very well juiced, and washes along with freedom. The finish brings in a little dusted tannin. From mid-2017. Sensuous and appealing, a w.o.w. Crozes. It will darken and tighten as it evolves. 2023-24 Oct 2016

shiny dark robe. The bouquet has an air of crunchy black cherry fruit, a little reduction in back. It is an upfront, stimulating debut. The palate is also expressive, rocks with free running black berry fruit and picks up some tarry tannin with a licorice implant, on the finish. This is full of vibration, a real whizzo wine. Great with grilled meats. There are southern moments, a sense of black olives, on both nose and palate. 12.5°. €13. 27,000 b. 2021-22  Oct 2015

mottled dark red. Laurel, herbs-influenced aroma, a stewed red berries core to the nose. Has a mature tone to it, a little sweetness. The palate bears a scented, Pez sweets influence all along, a mulled red berry flavour. It is ready now, and serve roast meats, lamb, for instance to go with it, since there are notes of rosemary in it. 12.5°. €12 export. 18,400 b. To 2019 Jan 2015

2012 ()

dark robe; smoky bacon, brooding depth, damp soil, blackberry coulis airs – a Wild Child nose, bundles of stimuli in it. The palate is also a Tearaway – gives supple waves of black berry fruit, with notes of reduction, violets. A lot to take into account, a bustling Crozes-Hermitage, a real bundle of young business – zap! Pow! Allez Batman! It will be longer, will stretch out more from late 2014. Marks for excitement. 13°. €11 ex cellars – great VALUE. 31,000 b. 2019-20  Nov 2013
