(vat) full robe; wide nose that shows brewed black fruits with a chocolate, date-like centre – the brewed air is foremost. The palate is also broad, chunky, square. There is a lot of tar-chocolate darkness in it. In the later stages it declares a southern sweet fullness, and is broad there. Quite traditional in concept, a big Châteauneuf that keeps going with no hidden or coy parts, all the cards are on the table. There is a hint of power at the end; a genuine wine here.
