dark, shiny red robe; the nose has inkiness in its dark fruit, black olives and spiced, mixed herbs airs, gives a picture of the garrigue. There is a hint of baking, warmth in the background. The palate carries an easy richness, cooked plum fruit with pockets of cumin, the tannins a little bit chalky. It hands out its matter with restraint, is a safe style of Gigondas with some local colour. Good with lamb, stews. 14.5°. From 2020. 2037-39 Oct 2018

(underground vat) deep, bright purple colour. The nose is a little subdued at first, but carries through to spice and dark fruit. There are spicy Syrah notes on the palate, which is fleshy and full with a dark fruit flavour. It is firm and grippy on the finish. This holds attractive fruit. 14.5°. From mid-2016. 2025-27 JL Dec 2014

2012 ()

(underground vat, bottling autumn 2014) dark robe; ripe blackberry, cassis jelly fruit aroma – a bouquet with a sweet and plump, confident centre. There is a big air of soaked fruits, a nose of fat depth here. The attack is gourmand – this is sweet lozenge time, the texture smooth, the wine round. It holds easy to like blackcurrant bud fruit, then the finale becomes more grainy via the arrival of its tannins. The overall effect is sweet, and this does not drink freely. Decant it. From 2016. 14.5°, 45,000 b. 2023-25  Dec 2013

full red robe. Pepper-smoke air, with coffee in a stern bouquet. The palate has a digestible mix of black fruit, prune and tar-tannin – it isn’t a big scale wine, but is charry at present. The style is mainstream, has a bit of the push button about it. It becomes pinched late on, bitter. From 2015. 60% Gren, 30% Syr, 10% Mourv this year. 2024-25  Dec 2011

quiet dark plum colour; red stone fruits air, decent depth in it, not a lot else on show, some red jam. Subdued red fruit debut – this slips along with a sweet tone to it, is not that deep. Lightly aromatic, but lacks real imprint. A little late acidity in its peppery aftertaste. From 2009. To 2016. Jan 2008

fair depth of red. Plum, a little floral influence in the nose – but it is just a bit lean, streaky, leathery, has baked black fruit within. Soft red fruit flavour here – a light, straightforward wine to drink now. No real end oomph, though the finish is fresh. Could be a shade more expressive around mid-2007. To 2009-10 Dec 2006

dark robe; the bouquet is stiff, backward, has an air of black cherry, isn’t varied yet. There is some alcohol on the attack; this is bitter, not very balanced, lacks middle palate stuffing for now. All a bit of an effort. 2006-08  April 1999

dark red, belle robe; black fruits and pepper on the nose, encouraging. The palate is very much on the warm, sunny vintage trail. Has a flavour of cooked plum at its heart, a mature Grenache style. It is nicely rounded, and the tannins are well integrated. Very full, has a clean flavour, and is true to its place. From 2002. 2014-17  April 1999
