(large barrel) dark red; the bouquet has a cooked red fruits aroma, is a live wire, carries a well judged sweetness. The palate comes with likeable raspberry content, spiked, clear tannins on board, ends decisively, menthol on the aftertaste. It has thrust, drive, requires another three years to fuse. It’s a bracing, nimble Châteauneuf. From 2023. 2042-44 Oct 2019

2016

(large barrel) three-quarter depth red robe. This has a super typical nose of the sands, purity with a hum of strength, bang on its place. The fruit resembles soaked red cherries (griottes), the tone is rounded. The palate links well, gives red fruits with a silken feel before it moves up a gear, takes on extra depth and quiet push from within. This is no patsy! It ends on a fluid succulence, is take your time STGT wine that is wide and sustained, offers rolling waves. From 2023. 2037-39 Oct 2017

2015

steady red colour. The bouquet is founded on a cautious air of black stone fruits, a little jam density. It’s in on itself for now. The palate has a medium weight presence, doesn’t show freely either, has a piano style. The flavour is on prune, with a note of dates. The tannins are chewy, lip smacking. This doesn’t ignite me. The late moments are challenging, on a rather dry chewiness, and an absence of confirmed richness and juice: in that respect it shows some of the vintage’s issues with the drought, these vines standing on draining soils. 15°. From 2020. 2031-33 Mar 2018 Previously Sept 2016 ***(*) (barrel) shiny red robe. The bouquet is well and elegantly filled with a burst of raspberry backed by blackberry fruit. The palate gives a finesse of fruit, has a savoury nature, the gras supple, likewise the tannins until their slight late bite. This reflects its sandy origins well. It has a measured presence, and the length is secure. From mid-2019. 2031-33 Sept 2016

2014 ()

red robe. The nose is well varied, offers tobacco, red meat, cedar, raspberry jam; it has mineral nerve. The palate has a flavour of concentrated red berries with tight, smoked tannins, all closely-knit. This is a wine of inner knuckle, depth from within. It has a little aromatic tone late on, from the sand. The tannins are gummy in texture. 15°. 5,730 b. Wait until mid-2018. Decanting advised. 2029-31 Nov 2016 GB £336 12 b in bond H2Vin www.h2vin.co.uk info@h2vin.co.uk +44(0)203 478 7376
