The Wines

Grenache, Syrah (mid-late 1980s) from clay-limestone soils, destemmed, crushed, varieties fermented apart, 3 week vinification, pumping overs, steel vat raised 8-10 months, filtered, 6,000 b

clear quite full red robe. The nose combines lamb stock with cooked plums and some sweet herbs, rosemary. It has a confident width. The palate offers good Grenache fruit with bright tannins, has a meaty note, and for now finishes a little on the back foot from its bottling. Decant this. 14°. 6,000 b. From spring 2017. 2021-22 May 2016

has a toned down plum red colour. The nose doesn’t fire, has a mild strawberry jam air, a little nudge of sweet herbs. The palate is limp, with only a little red fruit present, and a sense that it has never been a fresh wine. 13°. 6,000 b. Gren, Syr. To 2019 May 2016
