2016 ()

good, dark red colour. There is a sweet and rather copious blackberry fruit aroma at the heart of the nose, which is ready to burst out. Blueberry and spice also feature. There are wafts of reduction, so it needs to breathe or to be decanted. The palate delivers Syrah-inspired black fruits with a plump content deriving from the Grenache. The finish is on licorice – a cool thread there. This delivers open and immediate pleasure, plentiful juice until the salted grain of the tannins. Lively, w.o.w. wine, good for grills, barbecues. I can understand its Gold Medal, Paris 2017. Solo drinking OK – it rocks along, is great now, gives much enjoyment. 13.5°. 40% Gren, 40% Syr, 10% Cins, 10% Mars. 20,000 b. To 2021 Sept 2017

2015 ()

plum red robe, a little advance on the top rim. There are soft airs of cooked plums, prune fruit on the nose, a neatly rounded sweetness. It is fresh beyond its sweetness, shows some sweet herbs, bell pepper. The palate is easy textured, nice and fleshy, develops spice-tar assertion as it finishes. This is well made, plump wine, with the 2015 signature of slightly dry tannins on the close. It drinks well now, with steaks, stews ideal; the second half is tasty, rather aromatic. 13.5°.
