2016 ()

bright red. The nose is low-key after bottling one month ago, on dried herbs, thyme, trim back fruits, cherries. This drinks easily, with good immediacy and gentle features. Red fruits are lined up, a neat offer. This gives steady drinking, is perfectly sound. It could have more spark, but will show well in the second half of 2018. 13°. To 2024 March 2018

(casks) dark red robe. The bouquet has a rich bearing, comes with sweetly juiced blackberry fruit, presents a curvaceous opening. Its ripeness is more suggestive of the south than the north. The palate is also rich, with a meaty aspect, a red blood association. It washes along well, with fine grain powder tannins on the finish. This will be stylish around 2020-21, a good, inviting and pretty hearty glass. 13°. 13,000 b. €19 (2014). From 2019. 2026-28 Oct 2016

(casks) dark robe. The bouquet is filled, square in shape, has a probing density, a good berry mix, some mystery and coolness. The palate is fuelled by attractive, rolling fruit with a deft tannic presence, just a nudge from them. The aftertaste is peppered. This will be stylish. The finish is wide and rounded, good matter there. From mid-2016. 2021-22  Oct 2015

2013 ()

dark red robe. The nose mixes airs of sweet herbs and a neat little black berry fruit air. The palate starts with a chiselled run of crisp black fruit, and has pacy tannins criss crossing it. An attractive small ball of fruit appears on the aftertaste within the tannins. A wine for keenos rather than passers by. 13°. 2020-21  Oct 2015 Previously Jan 2015 *** (casks) quite a dark red. Has a damson plum, stewed red berry fruit aroma - a nose with a sweet, easy nature, sound depth, is round and aromatic. The palate offers a mature, jam style flavour of cooked red berries. It is backed by a note of pumice stone, rock face tannin. Quite good freshness here. It drinks on the go now – country foods, roast meats, lamb are suited. 13°. €9 export.  2020 Jan 2015

dark red. The nose is mild, has a typical 2014 calm air of blackberry with a gentle assurance, is just a bit hidden. This is a good all rounder, a wine for meats. The finale is a little savoury, with a note of black olives and some squeezy tannin. This has blackberry fruits at its centre. 13°. To 2020  Oct 2015

(casks) sombre, quite dark robe. Careful nose, which is reserved but has the potential to be stylish. Has an air of fine red berries that evokes the southern zone, is supple and inviting. Likewise, the palate is careful, precise; there is juicy, fleshy pleasure in its drinking. The attack is giving, takes on tight, toffee-style tannin towards the finish. Has a well-modelled harmony, is a wine of discreet pedigree, good terroir wine, STGT. Has good, unfettered lines, bonny length. Can be decanted. From mid-2012. 2021-22 Nov 2011

full red. Slightly smoky, nutty air of rather crackly black fruits, roast pork-bacon influences. Supple start to the palate, has an oily black fruit interior, followed by a scented aftertaste. It is a bit corralled by its bottling, so stops a tad towards the end. Has a mineral finale that is away from its black fruit. Bottled one month ago. 2019-20 March 2011

full robe; earthy style bouquet, which needs air, so decant – suggests violet, blackberry fruit, offers plenty. The palate contains perfumato, soft black fruit, gains in grip and tension as it goes, ends on the cut of the northern zone which closes down more sharply than the milder southern zone. Needs a kick up the backside to get going. After a double decantation, the fruit is enhanced and clarified. Has grounded virtues – there is a good amount of wine here. 13°. 2015-16 Dec 2009
