(vat, bottling in two weeks) very dark colour. There is lots of black cherry on the nose, with some iron in it, a wee crisp note. The palate gives cooked fruits, with ease in the texture and fleshy tannins, aided by Viognier for that; it works well. Black fruits, bright cassis make this very good in its grade thanks to lots of juice, entertainment – it will please. There’s wine in the glass here. €8.50. To 2021 March 2018

shiny red robe. There is a pepper-floral mix on the nose, quite bright red fruit within. The nose is welcoming. The palate holds clean, clear red fruit with a pepper presence, plus flowers again. This is a little stiff, taut. The fruit is free. It has some character, and gives licorice on the exit. 13.5°. To 2017  Oct 2015

2011

medium-plus red robe; this has a light overlay of spice above a red fruit such as raspberry aroma, shows a little heat, depth from the sun, smoke and dust also present. The palate fruit is flat, lacks lift. The attack is fair, but the second half is dry and lacks freshness, charm. Pedestrian, rather thin and not good value at €7.90 at Monoprix. 12.5°. To 2014. Bottled by the Famille Perrin.   Sept 2012
