dark red; the nose wells up on blackberry fruit, a hint of licorice, is wide. The palate is nice and broad, gives plentiful dark fruits with refined, lightly grainy tannins aiding its late depth. There is plenty here, above average content for a vin de pays/vin de France. It’s full, pleasing, suited to red meats, soya based dishes. 13.5°. 2025-26 Nov 2019
