quite a dark red. Has a brothy, black-fruited aroma, oak-pine notes attached, some grilling, near singeing. It doesn’t reflect the vineyard, more the cellar. There’s a hint of flowers. The palate mixes toffee-caramel from the oak with pointed red fruit, dark red berries. It’s not really a fused wine, holds diverse elements. There’s a little gras richness at its centre, thankfully. It’s plain red Lirac, a bit thin, doesn’t stand up well to the air. Try from 2020 for more integration. 14.5°. 10,000 b. 50% Syr, 40% Gren, 10% Mourv. 2024-25 Oct 2018
