2016

(vat, bottling April 2018) dark, deep red, a handsome robe. The bouquet reflects garrigue airs via mixed herbs, sweet red berry fruits, a pastille like ripeness. There is a note of inner power. The palate is smoothly rich, with ripe tannins and a succulence that is easy to appreciate. The Grenache gives it a good heartbeat, right at its centre, and the fruit persists with some refinement. 15°. 8,000 b. 80% Gren, 20% Mourv. €18. From mid-2019. 2032-34 Oct 2017

2014 ()

(vat) bright, quite dark red. There is a biscuity, slightly baked note to the nose, which has a plum fruit, raspberry Grenache heart. The palate attacks on fluid juice, before probing tannins come into play. This has a fresh length, and its vibrancy is appealing. It isn’t far off ready – from mid-2017. Good, clear wine. 2026-27  Oct 2015  

2013 ()

medium+ red colour. Dark fruit and menthol airs on the nose. The palate is similar, but overall is robust and austere. The tannins are hard and ungiving. This is a tough wine, and it’s difficult to see the future pleasure and prospects here. From 2017. 2023-24 JL Oct 2014

2012 ()

dark red, purple tints; smoky, slight game, red meat notes, agreeable blackberry, oven baked apple and a touch of treacle: the bouquet is wide, baked. There is 2012 vintage “steel” in the palate fruit, that brings a cool aspect. Blueberry fruit runs through to a sharp finish, is a little anxious on the late stages. It needs to bolster its content on the second half; time will help that, but there are one or two questions here. Bottled now, and I think later bottling would have helped it. 2011 ()

dark red, shiny robe. Jolly roll of blackberry liqueur on the first nose – there are good, consecutive waves of it, an under air of mineral and tea, good variety, has some menthol, local notes. The palate transfers well from the nose, starting on stylish red fruit. Coherent and rather tasty, not forced. There are mild, honeyed tannins at the end which round it off well with a chalky cut on the aftertaste. Authentic, interesting wine. It shows a little animal and dryness on the finish. 15°. 2010 ()

2 bottles tasted, 1st bottle has taint, a funny smudge on the nose, while the palate finishes drily. Bottle 2: medium+ red robe. Has a nutty, just out of raising stage nose – an oily nature to its red fruit, some dustiness in the air. The palate has a rather narrow debut, presents a straight line of red fruit, picks up spice and pepper and ends on cut. A bit mechanical. From mid-2012, let it settle. There are some herb, pebbly notes on the aftertaste. €15 at the cellars 2019-20 Dec 2011
