dark red; the nose has an air of brewed black fruits, a rose-violet essence, cool cassis fruit within. There are local notes such as its oiliness and dusty trails of the garrigue, and it has more to give. The palate leans towards being sultry, a wine of Southern mystery, fleshy content, good texture, all pleasing. It bears flavours of black fruits, blueberry. It lengthens well, has intricate touches, Mourvèdre darkness on the finish, licorice and the firmness of texture from it, along with its ability to structure the wine. This is Villages level Côtes du Rhône. Decanting advised. 14°. €7.20 all taxes inc is V. From 2020. 2027-29 March 2019

2013 ()

mature plum red robe. The nose is a mixture of spice and strawberry jam fruit. The palate centres on a fleshy Grenache red fruit, is traditional in style, suited to meat pies, country dishes. There is a powdery grain in the texture, typical of 2013. It doesn’t push the boat out far, but is authentic, for the short-term, since the fruit could be fresher.  14°. €6.50. To mid-2016 Jun 2015
