2013

sober red robe; this has the domaine’s usual style of a mulled red berry fruit aroma, that comes with slightly sweet, liqueur notes and a sound depth. Breathing for more than one hour encourages an air of mixed herbs, local dabs. This is a smooth, nicely coated affair: red berry, mulberry fruit with a little spark of clarity. It develops a little local glow as it finishes. This is a real safe bet Côtes du Rhône, more suited to food than solo. It wraps up roundly, and delivers an attractive pebble dash cluster of grainy tannin on the finish. Enjoyable, juicy wine that frees up as it airs, moves to w.o.w. status. 2010

(vat) nice, stylish, classic just out of the vat Grenache air led by a dancing red fruit. Dark fruit, chocolate influences on the palate, but it bears a fine line of late tannic freshness. The balance is good. To 2016, say. March 2011

2008 ()

(to be bottled in 2 months, May 2009) bright red, purple robe; peppery, direct aroma. The palate red fruits have a steady, even flow, a floral touch. Tender wine that is nice and drinkable. Good for a 2008. To 2011. March 2009

2007

wide, slightly funky nose – black fruits, and a floral air that is almost within the boudoir. The palate has a clear fruit and a clear tannin ensemble – it is very precise. It is easy to drink. There is a tinkle of late tannin, just enough. Bonny drop. To 2011. March 2009

2006 ()

(vat, 1 week before bottling) the bouquet bears red berries with style – the fruit mixes raspberry and baked red fruits also. There is good, clear fruit such as raspberry on the palate, which is beau and well-knit. The length is good, has a classy flow. Persists well, and within the flavour is something like marzipan.
