2015 ()

really dark red robe. The bouquet is prolonged, sustained, broad, offers a full trail of black berry fruit with immediate impact, its depth enjoyable. There is a touch of reduction in the background. The palate wells up on very juicy, textured gras with a deft insert from light powder tannins. This is a complete wine, near the top of the tree in 2015 Villages, every drop noticeable. The length is helped by some Mourvèdre, with its licorice signature. This has buoyant content, and expresses its place very well. From late 2018, but going well now. 14°. 2022-23 June 2017

2012

full, dark red; stewed damson plum aroma in a supple, also wide bouquet that is young and primary, open. Plenty of fruit here beckons the drinker. The palate is on an even keel: it holds soft-centred black fruits with a well-knit coating surround of darker tannin that adds a cool texture. A few herbs here – rosemary-sage – contribute extra interest. A good final wave of dark fruit swishes across the finish. long, STGT wine. Drink with grills, steaks. From spring 2014. 14.5°. 75% Gren, 10% Syr, 10% Mourv, 5% Cari this year. €6 export. 2018-19  Oct 2013

2010

dark red, some black tints; has a fine black fruit air, a sense of black olive, tanche, tapenade and very fine grain tannin on the nose, also a drift of violet and primrose, too. The palate is also fine-tuned, harmonious – the debut bears lissom black fruit with a precise, gradual build of elegant tannins that sprinkle spice along its later path, ending in a round, good style and a little mint breeze. Stylish wine that isn’t striving to do too much, has good balance. Something of a Burgundian approach here, finesse uppermost. 14.5°. To 2017.  75% Gren, 20% Syr, 5% M, 15,000 b, €5.50 export this year.  Oct 2012

2009

good, full robe. Clearly-fruited nose, smoky black fruit, polished leather airs. Blackberry, supple and very drinkable, glistening fruit on the palate, just the job. It really works around w.o.w. qualities. Shows a tiny bit of late tannin. The palate is great, and you wouldn`t know it was 15°. Shows some 2009 tightness on the finish. To 2016 March 2011
