50-60% Grenache, 40-50% Mourvèdre (both 1960s) co-planted on galet stone covered gravel, sand & red clay soils on Garrigues Sud at Sarrians, destemmed, co-fermented in tronconic oak vat, 5 week vinification, wild yeasts, pumping overs, part vat emptying/refilling, then cap punching, raised 1-7 year 225-litre & 600-litre oak casks 6 months, then raised large 12 hl barrel 12 months, filtered, called Cuvée Spéciale before 2016, 2,666 b


(large 12 hl barrel) dark red. Has a weighted bouquet, oxtail, brewed black fruits, an insistent drumbeat, blueberry fruits in mass. The palate unfurls well, with a rich wave of dark, tangy, spiced fruits, dried herbs emerging towards the finish. It is downhome, has good “knuckle”, a chewy interior, with the tannins still quite rugged on the finish, which bears some menthol clarity. 2013 ()

(vat/casks) deep purple black colour. The nose is ripe and concentrated, with jammy, dark fruit notes. The palate is rich but refined, with layered fruit and firm but fine tannins. There’s also a minerally freshness. It is modern in style, but is harmonious. It bears the hallmark of a special cuvée. 14°. From spring 2016. 2022-23 JL Dec 2014
