The Wines

100% Roussanne (2011, 2014) on very granite, rotted granite, poor cover of soil at 300-350 metres on Barras, harvest into a cold chamber in hot vintages such as 2017, 2018, fibre glass fermented at 17-20°C, raised 7 months, malo half completed or blocked (2017), “the terrain is very poor, the yields are low, and there is a good link between the juice and solid matter of the grapes”, first wine 2014, 650-1,730 b

clear yellow robe; stewed pear, apricot, rather fat aroma. The palate has a flavour of dried fruits, fine acidity, ends in a compact way, a hint of tannin, tang there, the aftertaste honeyed. It’s OK, a bit mainstream, could be brighter. 14°. €14. To 2022 Dec 2019

refined yellow robe. The tropics in the glass| There’s an explosion of jungle fruits, papaya-mango, bears the “silk” of the Roussanne, an inviting florality. The palate has absorbing style, with the smooth caress of the texture, a real pleasure. There’s very tidy acidity and grip here, is a beauty. It drinks great now – aperitif, or fine flavoured dishes. Bottled April 2018. €14 is VALUE. 15 hl/ha, 1,730 b. “Despite the low yield and a lot of sugar in the grapes, it has balance and acidity, very handy,” Pascal Jamet. To 2020 Dec 2018

yellow robe. This has a highly typical Roussanne, exotic fruits, ripe mango aroma along with apricot. It is an inviting bouquet, full of life, despite the extreme youth of the vines. The palate has a white peach jelly flavour, holds soft gras richness. This is supple. It ends on honey, and is good for its young vineyard. 13.5°. 2017-18  Dec 2015
