full red robe; cooked blackberry, curvy aroma with oily, spice notes, airs of licorice-coffee. Blue fruit sets the palate in motion, with a good and regular lengthening – it has spine within its fleshy content. Nice fluid juice lies at its heart. The aftertaste has fine powder. This holds vintage sun, but that isn’t toppy. 13°. Bottled Jan 2020. €21 at the cellars. From mid-2021. 2031-33 Feb 2020
(casks, bottling March 2015) quite a dark red; tight black berry fruit aroma, with a note of buffed leather, a slight oak-inspired nuttiness as well. Medium weight, cool fruiting on the palate. It has precise tannins, which are finely grained. Unpretentious St Jo, good with cottage pie, simple home cooking. 12.5°. It needs leaving until 2016. 7,000 b. 2021-22 Jan 2015
purple-black robe. Black cherry, rather good, oily aroma whose light toasting is also a contributor. The palate presents juicy black fruit that is nice and clear on the front end. There is enough content for the wine to be suave and agreeable. Good fruit persistence, which combines with a bacon, cherry aftertaste. 13°. 2014-15 July 2010
sound dark red, some black. Red cherry, slightly griottes (soaked cherries) aroma laced with pepper - it has a calm assurance about it – the air travels across the glass, is active. The palate delivers red and black berries with a nice grip – it has a darker side to it than the Tradition wine. It persists decently. OK to drink now, but especially from 2009 on. 2015-16. Bottled Feb 2008. June 2008
gentle, reserved black fruit aroma, some licorice and tar. Fruit and flavour are withdrawn on attack, but is clean at its core. Needs time to coax it out. A little burnt on the finale, shows that vintage characteristic. Fruit is clean, oak is present. Elegant style, aftertaste of cherry fruit. Esp 2007 on. 2012 April 2006
crisp, tight black fruit bouquet, minty also - more variety to come. Well, cut, good quality fruit on palate, peppery. Some richness here, has some pedigree and structure. Sound length. Esp 2006 on. 2011-13
spicy, firm/stylish nose; compact, cooked red fruits. Fair length, some richness. Air tightens, dries it.
