Syrah (2004) from black mica soils at 450 metres at √Čtables, 20% whole bunch inclusion, 10-15 day buried amphore vinification, very light pumping overs, 800-litre, 500-litre, 200-litre amphore raised 12 months, unfined, unfiltered, no SO2 added, vin de pays until 2011, then Vin de France, 4,000 b

dark red; reduction features in a sturdy nose that holds well, shows sun, thickness from it. The attack is immediate, with ripe black fruit depth at the mid-point; it builds tannins, ends on that influence. It’s not quite in its stride as yet, decanting an aid. This is table wine. 13°. 500-litre amphorae this year. To 2025 Feb 2020

2017 ()

dark red; blackberry with savoury notes and licorice show on the nose, which has plump notes to it. The palate delivers direct, searching, peppery black fruit. The tannins pose questions, though the fruit within is clear. The surrounds are a bit testing here, is a rigorous wine. Drink with grills. 12.5°. 4,000 b. 2023-24 Feb 2019
