50-60% Marsanne, 40-50% Roussanne (2009) from 1 hectare on chalk, white clay, stone covered soils at Guilherand beside Crussol, 15-30% new, 15-40% 1-3 year 228-litre oak cask, 40-70% steel vat fermented, varieties together, raised 7 months, lees stirred, filtered, first wine 2013, 2,000 b


bright, firm yellow colour; the nose is reserved, but carries depth, is backed with profound mixed white fruits, lemon curd, white peach, a hint of oak. The palate is fuelled with rich, still compact content, has notes of tannin in the late moments; it doesn’t declare openly on the finish, but the length is certain, the aftertaste firm. Allow until late 2020, and decant this. 14°. 2030-32 Nov 2019

2017 ()

full, shiny yellow robe. The bouquet has a compote or stewed fruits aroma, a note of barley sugar, with cooked lemon, white tobacco, oak; there’s a hint of Roussanne elegance. The palate drives along, bears wavy white fruits with a saline note towards the close, where it grips tidily, shows a touch of tannin. It’s a tiny bit light in the mid-palate, but can expand and lengthen further with another winter or so, is nicely grounded, up for St Jacques in sauce, butter-based dishes, blanquette of veal. It’s very much in the here and now. 13°. 60% Marsanne, 40% Roussanne. 2026-27 Dec 2018

2016 ()

yellow robe, some depth. A lurking aroma has potential – a good, rather thick accumulation of buttery notes, near crème patisserie, nectarine. It’s a wee bit dumb, decanting a help, thus. The palate comes with a good, typical gras and coated texture, is nice and broad, full all through, shows peach flavours. There is a thread of vanilla and nuttiness from oak. It’s good table wine, ideal with wild mushroom, morilles dishes, sauced dishes as it is an enjoyably squeezy Rhône blanc, that will be appreciated by people who know how to cook, and like to eat in local restaurants. The length is solid. It comes in marked style contrast to the New Wave 2016 Ferraton La Source blanc, for instance. 13°. 2022-23 Jan 2018


full yellow; the nose leads on an air of orange marmalade, greengage plum, has a weighty depth, shows some oak and grilling. This is innately powerful wine by suggestion. The palate fields compact content, with compressed fruit and a note of tannin along the final stretch. It’s not quite a true, firing ensemble as it stands, and it drifts on the finish. 14°. 2014 ()

full yellow robe. The bouquet gives a pretty full aroma led by orange marmalade, with a twinning of vanilla pod and ginger alongside. It is chunky, and sets the tone for a nicely richly coated palate. The finish gives a flavour of brioche bread, a more firm, slightly tannic aspect after a run of attractive white peach fruit. This has a genuine character, and is full enough for white meats, spiced Asian cuisine. 13.5°. 50% oak, 50% vat. 2022-24  Oct 2015   


yellow robe. Fat, almond paste, agreeably round nose, gives a hint of exotic fruit, flan, cooked banana, verbena. This is neat, suave, glycerol based wine with some bite from the oak, a nuttiness. Favours food over aperitif – it is harmonious, smoothly textured, pliant, attractive. The finish is clear. 12.5°. To 2018  Jan 2015
