full, gleaming yellow colour; the bouquet exudes tropical fruits, mango, passion fruit, a note of ripe banana. The palate bears fat gras, its texture fleshy and continuous, an orb of Southern flavour here. The aftertaste brings in lychee flavours. It’s flashy, in the moment St Jo, for fish pie, mushroom dishes. 13.5°. 95% Mars, 5% Rouss. €24. 2023-24 Nov 2019

2017

glowing dark yellow robe; the bouquet is fully charged with a tropical fruit salad, pineapple, cooked lime, vanilla in the mix, sizzled butter undertones. The palate gives a cool thread of Marsanne fruit, with apricot, ginger in the tang. It drinks well with its gusto and largesse, is on a good equal footing with fish such as halibut, monkish, tuna, sauces included. It has the form of a red wine in its structure and length, and engages very well. Serve in a large glass. 13.5°. 95% Marsanne, 5% Roussanne. 2027-29 Dec 2018

(cask) yellow robe. The nose is led by citrus aromas, with a light note of pineapple, toasting present. The palate presents a suave content, a flavour of white peach, a steady gras which turns calmly in the glass. There is attractive lime fruit on the finish. This is stylish, and neat, a pretty wine. I like its florality. 2020-21 Oct 2016
