(casks) full, dark robe. This has an aroma of the South, tapenade, black cherry fruits, cassis liqueur de Dijon, is a very curvy opening. It’s very good and full. The palate gives a solid wave of dark, smoky berry fruit, with moments of salt towards the finish. There is low-key late crunch from within. This is grounded, with refined notes, a proper, thorough Cornas. This bears the sap [sève] and gras of old vines. This will receive a second winter’s raising, bottling spring 2020. From 2022-23. 2042-44 Dec 2019
