2018 ()

very dark robe; the bouquet is grilled, bears an air of varnish, isn’t settled down. It has a primal vigour. The palate is firm, marked by stiff tannins, oaking, compressed black juice within. The aftertaste is dry. The cellar overlay is strong for now, and this needs further ex-bottle raising in order to harmonise. I hope it will receive that. The juice within has some quality, but the surrounds are demanding. 14.5°. 3,000 b. €27. From late-2022. 2035-37 Nov 2019


(casks) dark red robe. Beef stock, licorice, blackberry fruit jam mix in a compact bouquet, one with the 2015 sun depth present. It’s from southern climes, is square in shape for now. The palate offers a rolling black fruited content, again the sun emphasizing the thickness of the juice and the depth of the wine. It’s good and long. There is intensity here, with demanding tannins that require leaving until 2019-20. 14°. €13 export. 2029-31 Oct 2016

2013 ()

(casks) very dark robe. There is a swirl of oak, chocolate, a touch of sweet black berries on the nose. The oak is prominent. The palate holds sleek black fruit that runs in waves, oak always attached. It is still running juicily on the long finish. This needs 15-18 months to absorb more of its oak. It has sound, reassuring depth for the future. 13.5°. €11.65 ex cellars. From mid-2016. 2022-23  Jan 2015

2005 ()

dark robe. Spritely, upright bouquet – cassis with filling – is quite broad later on, even if a bit chiselled. Black berry fruit on the palate, with an iron/mineral thread. Live finish. Fair amount of richness within. From 2009. 2015-16. Nov 2006


peppery, firm nose. Chewy texture, fruit locked in by the oak, but is decent. Esp from 2004-05. To 2009-10.


restrained black jam, light pepper nose; clear black berried fruit, sinew, nice width. Esp 2004-05. To 2010-11


elegant style at eight years´ old. Cool texture, refined wine, has a leathery side form the vintage´s tannins. Good purity of flavour.
