70% Marsanne (mid-2000s), 30% Roussanne (mid-2000s) from granite soils on Les Faures & Rabatte, 90% steel vat, 10% new 228-litre oak cask fermented, raised 6-7 months, malo blocked, 2,500 b


even yellow robe; the nose is rather hidden, has a note of dried fruits, aniseed-licorice, white plum, needs coaxing out. The palate is butty, compact, bears a knuckle of firm content, with a rather dour delivery. It will be best served with food, to unlock some of its reserve. I feel it may have been pressed a little hard in this strong vintage – a very light touch was required. From mid-2020, let’s see what happens next. 14.5°. 2,500 b. €16.50. 2025-26 Nov 2019
