100% Grenache from limestone soils on Les Masques (N-W), Les Terres Blanches (N), mostly destemmed, 30 day concrete vat vinification at up to 28°C, part vat emptying/refillings, pumping overs, aged 80% concrete vat, 20% 500-litre oak casks 10-12 months, unfined, filtered, organic wine, called Trinité from 2017, 4,000-4,500 b


shiny, dark red robe. Green olives, crushed pistachio nutshells airs lead the nose, with a prune, black raisin, black berry infill. It’s a weighted, baked start. The palate carries a floral shimmer in its succulent, sealed black fruit, black raisin content. There’s a late surge in delivery, a robust close here, power and some wildness. It’s disorderly and baked, but just about manageable if left, albeit a wine you don’t want to drink much of. 14.5°. 3,500 b. 100% Grenache. €24. From 2022. 2037-39 Oct 2018

2016 ()

dark red robe, a lighter rim. The bouquet is softly fruited, mixes blackberry and raspberry, has a note of dusty trails, sweet herbs. It’s not yet an ensemble. The palate runs with live red fruits, and lithe, pebbly tannins. This requires another 18 months to flesh out more, its bottling early in my view: bottled Sept 2017. There are local touches in it. 14.5°. 4,500 b. €22. From mid-2019.  2028-30  Oct 2017

2014 ()

(casks, bottling Nov 2015) serene red robe. Has a blackberry, near prune aroma in a smoky setting, a hover of garrigue herbs. The palate assembles red berries, raspberry flavouring, and flows enjoyably. The finish has some sweet notes, and the length is very sound. It is restrained but does have local touches. 14.5°. 4,000 b. €22. From 2017. 2026-28  Oct 2015
