dark robe. Jaunty blackberry and spice bouquet, a good fill for the glass; it combines black fruit and red meat droplets. There is a good, running supply of black fruit along the palate, with chiselled tannins lining the sides and adding impact after half way. A wholesome Côtes du Rhône for la table. It suggests tar on the finish, which is grounded, confident. 14°. 2017-18  June 2013  Previously July 2011 *(*) dark. Assertive first air, grounded black berry fruit, nutty, a touch pumped up. Hence black raisin airs in a young wine from a fresh vintage = suspicion, a false violet note. Direct, muscled, sinewed start, then its ends tautly, dry. Needs food, but is implicitly overdone.
