The Wines

Mourvèdre, Syrah, Carignan, Grenbache from galet stone covered clay-limestone soils, en hommage à Christian Amido, creator of the domaine

dark red robe. Has a plush, open nose that emphasizes dark black cherry fruits, Morellos, shows reduction, so has a “high” element. There’s a shimmer of salt-spice above. It’s a big and broad bouquet, a weighty start. The palate assembles black fruits, blackberries, has a fluid gras, rolls along smoothly, pockets of licorice and mixed dried herbs of Provence, with roasted notes towards the finish. It has the texture of a sun-filled vintage, until late powder grain tannins. It’s not a wine to drink freely, but will be enjoyable in a large glass with game. It will fuse its late stages with time. It presents lots of juice in an imposing wave. It’s just OK on its degree, while the Mourvèdre will keep it going. From late-2019. 2030-32 Oct 2018
